Cricut Cartridges – How to Make Your Artwork Stand Out

For many years, Cricut has consistently provided an amazing line of cartridges to inspire a lot of handcrafters and artists today. These cartridges are being used time and time again in order to produce the most stunning art pieces from scrapbooks to greeting cards. Provo Craft, the makers of the Cricut cartridge line, has long been dedicated to provide the most helpful materials in making each craftwork stand out from all the rest.

Of course, every person has a specific budget when buying Cricut cartridges. As much as people want to get the best deals from all the stores that sell these equipments, they must know where to go to. There are a lot of merchants selling Cricut materials both online and in physical stores. Some stores can be grossly overpriced, and other stores may give you the most enticing promos that you simply cannot resist.

Buying a personal cutter would already give you a chance to own some of the basic shape and font cartridges. A personal cutter usually sells for $299.00, the suggested retail price by Provo Craft or Cricut. If you have a bigger budget available, you may also choose to get the Expression machine, which is rated at $499.00.

Although a few cartridges are supplied along with the purchase of cutting machine, other handcrafters still prefer to expand their collection with cartridges that are being individually sold in the market. These Cricut cartridges provide the most breathtaking designs and shapes that can turn any ordinary artwork into a masterpiece.

The cheapest price of an add-on cartridge can cost $49.99 and can rise up to as much as $99.99, depending on the design and the crafting possibilities it can present. Average designs usually fall anywhere between the two rates. Any avid fan of Cricut cartridges would always tell you that buying additional cartridges aside from the ones that come along with the machine will be an excellent choice to make the most out of your crafting equipment.

Currently, the line presents more than seventy-five cartridges, each with their own unique patterns. These cartridges make work with Cricut materials absolutely enjoyable and engaging that even your children can enjoy your chosen pastime. Cricut also has a steady line of cartridges from licensed character series such as Mickey Mouse, Hello Kitty and Winnie the Pooh.

With a lot of designs for you to select from, it is almost impossible for you not to find the perfect pattern to use in your project or craftworks. The Cricut cartridges are also specially recommended to men and women who love to create a lot of embellishments in their work of art.

You will be surprised as to how many various designs you can create in just a single line of Cricut cartridges. Whether you are an illustrative type of person who prefers to create their designs using shape cartridges, or someone who has an outstanding skill in using words with the font cartridges; you will be able to create magic with these materials.

Putting a Cricut to Work for You

Every once in a while a product is released that really impacts its market. The Cricut line of personal electronic die cutting machines by Provo Craft is just such an item. Although the Cricut is not the first die cutting tool ever released for use by scrapbookers or paper crafters, no other tool makes it so quick and easy for user to create exactly what they want. With the push of a button, crafters can create cutouts that are perfectly coordinated to their projects and look as nice as the commercially sold embellishments available at crafting centers.

There are currently three different version of the Cricut available. The smallest is the original Cricut machine. The Cricut Expression is a larger, more versatile machine that allows users to create cutouts that are almost twenty-four inches tall. The Cricut Create marries the additional capabilities of the Expression to the small size of the original Cricut machine and is only sold a Michael’s Craft Centers.

In each of the Cricut machines, the basic process of creating a cutout is the same. The user must insert a cartridge into the machine. Then, after selecting the design he wishes to create, he should mount his chosen paper onto the sticky cutting mat which is furnished with the Cricut machine. The mat and paper are fed through the machine as the cutting blade cuts out the chosen design. Now, the user simply removes the cutout from the mat. His cutout is ready for use in any project he likes.

The real workhorses behind the success of the Cricut machines are the Cricut cartridges. Each machine comes with its own cartridge to allow crafters to get started with their Cricut right away. In addition, however, many other cartridges are available for purchase. Cartridges may include fonts, shapes, or a combination of the two. Cartridge themes run the gamut from simple sports motifs to licensed products like Disney’s Hannah Montana.

The ability to use many different types of materials with the Cricut machines also makes it easy to find all types of uses for a Cricut machine. Paper and cardstock are, of course, perfect for use with a Cricut, but other materials will work, too. Vinyl stock allows Cricut owners to create clingy cutouts. Sturdier cutouts are possible using Provo Craft’s chipboard stock. Even magnetic cutouts are possible using Cricut’s magnetic material in place of paper.

Cricut machines are available through many different shopping venues with prices reaching as high as $500. They can be purchased directly at Cricut’s website; however, shoppers may find better deals by checking out other vendors. Many online retailers, as well as craft stores like Joann Craft Stores and Michael’s Craft Stores, offer sales on the Cricut machines and cheap Cricut cartridges.

Committing to purchase a Cricut personal electronic cutter may seem like a huge investment. Before completing their purchases crafters can often get a look at a Cricut in action by visiting their favorite craft center or checking out the videos at Cricut’s website. Once they’ve seen the Cricut at work, they’ll be able to determine if a Cricut is the right tool for them.

CNC Control Software is what any CNC machine uses to create the operations within the machine. Generally it is considered to be the “intelligence” that governs the type of operation performance or the overall capacities of the machine. The software will be how the machine designs, cuts and operates the work that the operator programs into the computer such as when using the CNC Router, CNC Lathe or CNC Mini Mill.

CNC Software also uses electronic memory modules where information is automatically stored inside the CNC machine. In some case this information cannot be changed and in others, through the use of temporary memory, it can be changed.

Generally speaking the computer is very important to the process of the CNC software because the computer numerical controls are usually outside the machine on a small or large keyboard. The computer is offline when it is performing the programming of parts and the computer controls the other parts that are necessary to create the product, depending on the type of CNC in use.

There are four basic software types that CNC uses:

Manual G Code Programming
Many of the larger commercial machines use and it is used for simple machine processes. The drawbacks of this type is that it takes a long time for someone to learn how to program G Codes and if you want to use more complicated machines, it is time consuming to learn how to use it. Because if these issues, many operators would rather not learn how to do this and

Offline CAM Programming
This type of programming can be done using a local PC and generally is available for larger machines as well as some of the smaller desktop CNC machines. This software can’t be used without a PC at the front end aspects of the machine. One thing about this software is that it is difficult to learn and will take a lot longer time for some people to understand.

Conversational Programming
This type of programming is a better type of software program for the use of CNC because it is intuitive, which means it is simple to learn by the average computer person and it is similar to the programming in regular PCs. The reason this type was developed was so that it could do both simple and complex parts without having to take so long to learn.

Windows Based Programming
Many CNC Software programs are now Windows based which means it works through Windows XP or Windows VISTA. The operator can import CAM and CAD programs and it can import other types of software like dxf files depending on the type of machine being used.

There are a variety of different ways that a CNC Software can work with your CNC System so its nice to figure out which one will work with you and your preferences for CNC Software.

Also the purpose of each software program is to make life easier for the operator and make the machine do what is required. The easier the software is for the operator to program, the more the machine will be used. The particular software has also been used with CAD and CAM systems which makes this easier for many operators.

A mini CNC lathe is generally converted from a regular lathe when a hobbyist wants to experience a machine that can do twice the work they can do manually. Usually these are small machines that have a lot of power but that can sit on a desktop or workbench in the home.

There are certain people where starting with a CNC Mini Lathe is the perfect way to experiment with what these machines will do. The CNC mini lathes are good for metalworking in general and for making small parts that need to be made with precision. Generally speaking the individual starts with a CNC Mini Lathe that they buy and then convert it to do CNC.

Most mini-lathes are a smaller version of those used in commercial shops but they can be a different design than those that are made strictly for working with wood. The mini-lathe is able to shape plastics, woods and other materials. A nice feature of these is that manufacturers are continuously developing new features so it has become easier to convert them to CNC over the years.

Mini lathes usually come in three sizes: 7×10, 7×12 and 7×14. Each one is measured by the length that length of the swing as it goes over the bed of the lathe. Today you can also find 9x models. The conversion of a general mini-lathe to include CNC has many benefits.

Many plans that you can find on the Internet will allow both manual and CNC abilities in the conversion because there are times when an individual is working with the machine that they may elect to do some processes by hand. At other times they may want to use CNC capabilities to produce repetitive pieces or ones that require a lot of time manually.

Converting to CNC also allows you to be able to produce both 2D and 3D contours which are unavailable when you are only working a CNC Mini Lathe by hand. All you have to do is program the computer to create the part you need. You can use wood plastic or metal to make a mold and using the CNC portion you can produce a mold that you can use as many times as you want because it creates a perfect mold. You can do multiple holes drilling by creating the diameter of the whole and then programming it into the computer; from that point the CNC lathe does the work.

When converting to CNC Mini Machine it will generally take one or two weekends to finish the conversion; however plans will vary depending on what you want your CNC mini-lathe to do. Sometimes you can find some picutres with perfect step by step directions that are usually under one-hundred dollars.

To convert to CNC you will need to understand either CAD or CAM software because currently these are the types of software that is used in the CNC mini-lathe machines. Usually you can control the lathe right from your PC because the software is created to run in that way. Generally it seems that you can make this conversion for under $2000.

CNC

The CNC Mini Machine is actually a smaller CNC mill that has been adapted for the use of hobbyists. What is nice about this machine is that it is much smaller and can fit into a lot of home worshops easier and perfect for DIY CNCers. Some people have been able to take a basic small mill machine and turn it into a CNC machine by adding the computer control panel; this is called a CNC conversion.

This machine is also called a table top CNC mill. The mini-mill also allows an individual who doesn’t have a lot of space to work within a chance to do so because they don’t take up as much space as the larger CNC mill.

CNC has been used in commercial shops over the last ten years or so because of their convenience and ability to allow the operator to get more work done. For hobbyists, the prices have come down and there are more opportunities for the hobbyist to use these machines; many already understand CNC from their jobs so it is easy to convert a smaller machine.

Sometimes with machines the smaller they get the less production intent you get out of them but this is not the case with CNC Mini Machines. They can create small parts and they are ideal for doing finishing work or for cutting some metals like aluminum. They also can cut steel because of the low-end torque they use.

Manufacturers like Haas and Syil make reliable CNC Mini Mill that fit on a desktop but have high capacity for work. These are usually bought as regular mills and then converted through the use of a kit into the CNC mill. Most of these types of mills can be converted very easily and quickly. Some conversion kits can show how to set up robotics as well.

The conversion process is much more cost effective according to those who have done it, than purchasing one out right. Buying plans and conversion kits can cost around $500 or less while buying a mini CNC machine can cost more than $2,000.

There are many advantages for hobbyists to use computerized programs for milling at home. Some of these include:

§ They can work more materials like soft waxes and hard steels and this allows them to experiment with materials they may not have used when they had to mill it by hand. They can also produce parts much faster than with regular milling machines.

§ This process allows them to work with more intricate patterns and produce higher precision components. What this does is that you can have more ideas that actually go into production.

§ The small CNC Mini Machine can create smoother finishes on their projects and make for a better design.

There are a variety of projects that can be done with a CNC mini mill and may are being produced by a company called Sherline Products. On their website they show many projects from a mini-steam engine to a small hobby church that people can actually duplicate. These are some of the ways that a CNC mini-mill can be used. These projects can be seen by going to their website at CNC Project.

Removing data from a hard drive, permanently, is something that sounds an awful lot simpler than it proves to be in reality. As we all know deleting a file does not remove the file or its content from the hard drive permanently, data recovery companies can normally aid in the recovery of such files, no doubt other less scrupulous individuals are equally capable of such recovery feats.

So if it is so hard to remove private data from an old hard drive what exactly should you be doing to ensure your data has no risk of getting into the wrong hands?

The answer, in short, is that there is no easy method of permanently removing data from a storage media. This does not make it impossible, but does mean that you will normally have to obtain expensive software to help in the task.

In order to completely erase data on a drive it is best to overwrite the original several times but not necessarily using the same methodology on each rewrite. Using a method that involves numerous passes over the data either using specialist software or with a manual process that adheres to recognized data erasure standards will under most circumstances guarantee that the data has been successfully erased.

There are many companies that can provide such data elimination services, and there are also a number of software applications that can serve the process including Evidence Eliminator, M-Sweep Pro Data Eliminatior and R-Wipe software from the company behind R-Studio Data Recovery Software.

Apart from software and manual deletion there are more robust methods of data disposal which is commonally know as data destruction. This involves the complete destruction of the disks to the point where recovery would be impossible.

If you wish to attempt this yourself, it is important to note that the platters within the device should be completely destroyed, this means bending, scratching, smashing, shattering or whatever else seems reasonable to completely annihilate the hard disk platter.

There will always be those that are less educated in the filed of data recovery that will have you believe that simply formatting your drive or even conducting a low level format will do the trick. Sadly this is simply not the case. Another common myth is that reinstalling the operating system will suffice but that will remain the myth that it is.

If your data is business critical or extremely sensitive, always ensure that you can have the data certifiably removed from the storage media, whether that media be Flash Memory device, a hard disk drive, a RAID Array, Floppy Disk or CD / DVD Optical Media often only a professional can help you.

A CNC Router has several different parts that make up its total machine. It is important to know about these components so that you can make sure each is working properly. This is especially interesting information when you are thinking about building your own Router.

The most important parts and components of a small CNC Routing are as follows:

1. Worktable — this is where you will sit the material so that it can be cut. You will use a clamp to hold the material down.
2. Router — the router is the part of the machine that uses a high speed to turn the cutting tool.
3. Cutting Tool — this is the tool that cuts the material that you lay on the table.
4.Collet — you will want this piece as its critical for holding the cutting tool on the router.
5. Dust Extraction Outlet — this is where you take the dust out after it has accumulated in the machine.
6. Guard — this protects the individual who is operating the . It is important to keep this down when the machine is in operation.
7. Control Panel — you can use the controls to use the router either manually or automatically.
8. Stop Button — this is the button that will stop the machine in an emergency.
9. Door Handles — this holds the guard into place and will not allow the router to move unless the guard is down.

The router will be much more sophisticated than all of the components and parts that make up your small machine that fits on a table. These machines will need the computer component which is the CNC Controller and you will need the CAD software to run it. There are many websites that will tell you more about how to build your own and will have a listing of all the parts necessary.

As you explore the parts and components of a CNC Routing you will find that they are made from a variety of materials. As an example, when you are choosing a machine to make, you will find some components in wood, others in aluminum and others in steel. What components you choose will depend on your budget and their availability.

There are almost too many stores to choose from when it comes to buying parts and components online for your CNC Router. Sometimes these individuals can really be a good help when you are trying to choose components and parts.
