USACE-Kansas City District

     Col. Michael A. Rossi is District Engineer and Commander, USACE-Kansas City District, overseeing civil works, military construction and the cleanup of hazardous, toxic and radiation waste. Its civil works boundaries take in parts of Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska, and Colorado, while its military construction boundaries encompass the states of Missouri and Kansas. It is the primary design district in seven states and the secondary design district in eight states for the hazardous, toxic and radiological waste cleanup program, and it is responsible for naturally occurring radioactive materials disposal (non-fissionable materials) for the entire United States. Col. Rossi has served in a variety of operations, command and staff assignments in Germany and throughout the United States, most recently serving as Engineer Office Branch Chief, U.S. Army Human Resources Command. Previously he served as Officer and Deputy Commander of Military Programs, USACE-Sacramento District, Calif.
