Malika Hobbs
Program Manager for Minority Serving Institutions
National Nuclear Security Administration

     Malika Hobbs is currently the Program Manager for Minority Serving Institutions at the National Nuclear Security Administration and the Program Manager for the Dr. Samuel P. Massie Chairs of Excellence Program, a $20 million program involving nine Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and one Hispanic-Serving Institution. These universities produce cutting-edge research and graduate more than 30 percent of the minority engineers in the United States. Hobbs has more than 35 years of extensive contracting and administrative experience in the public and private sector. During her federal career, she served as a Chinese translator for the Army Material Command, a Contracting Officer with the Drug Enforcement Administration, an Environmental Education Specialist and as Acting Director of the Department of Energy’s Office of Environmental Management’s (EM) Office of Acquisition. In addition, while serving as the EM Program’s Small Business Representative, she received several awards for increasing the number of small business contracts with her organization. Additionally, Hobbs serves as the Finance Chair of the Advancing Minorities Interest in Engineering organization, which is composed of Fortune 500 corporations in partnership with nine HBCUs.
